A nation-wide family and community engagement educational initiative with 2 primary goals:
1. To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school.
A schedule will be provided to you within a few days of your assignment. The schedule will include things like:
Morning car line – opening doors for children and helping them to school
Working with children in small groups and class
Assisting teachers with projects
Eating lunch with children
Playing at recess
Reading with/to children
Afternoon bus pickup/car line
Take your child home with you
